5454.0. "UCX 4.1 has broken interpretation of foreign protocol" by TINCUP::JONES () Fri Apr 18 1997 15:35
This worked in UCX 4.0 and earlier versions. Now I am running the
following version:
Digital TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS Alpha Version V4.1
on a DEC 3000 - M700 running OpenVMS V6.1
If I send mail to SMTP%"[email protected]", and usera has their
address forwarded to a foreign mail transport (such as NM%sysmgr,
etc.), UCX SMTP reports back an error attempting to locate node
SYSMGR.domain.com.
The part after the "%" is being interpretted now as a nodename. The
protocol is supposed to pass that onto the foreign mail transport/image
for use by that image.
Instead now, SMTP is doing funky things and has completely broken it.
In my particular case, I have written and been using since V5.5 of
OpenVMS a foreign mail transport that has worked up to now with all
versions of UCX.
Help!
