Whats happening here?

NTP peer connected to Internet time provider -> a unix system set at local
time - New Zealand. (Problem node running VMS with absolutely no DTSS - only
NTP)

This problem is based on what occurred when daylight savings finished in
New Zealand (ie the clock had to go back one hour.)

As can be seen in attached log file clock goes back one hour (correctly) but
then 10 minutes later  whips back another 12 hours!!!

I thought I had sussed the problem when I found what a think is a problem in
the UCX config file (see note 5375...still unanswered) where setting the
differential time always set the differential value to "0",
however setting the correct differential factor has made no difference.

The NTP implementation in UCX is notoriously buggy.

Since the folks maintaining NTP these days seldom
read this conference and are measured and rewarded
for IPMTs solved, your frustration level may be
lowered by filling an IPMT.
