Customer is getting the following error message when trying to nfs mount a file. UCX is nfs server. UCX issues this message and then nfs bombs out. The nfs mount fails. ucx-f-nfs_lnmopc, failed to translate logical name ucx$nfs00000000_opcom After this error, nfs exits before accept and then it gets ugly. Anyone know the meaning of this message (other than customer is doing something wrong)? Glenn

That logical name, and others, are defined in SYS$STARTUP:UCX$NFS_SERVER_STARTUP.COM. Make sure that file is as provided in the kit or changes are limited to appropriate configuration changes. Make sure the server has been set up using the UCX configuration menu, not by manually executed UCX SET SERVICE commands and/or some other misconceived effort. If this is the problem, clean it up by first doing UCX SET NOSERVICE on NFS, MOUNT, and PORTMAPPER. Then enable PORTMAPPER and NFS through the configuration menu. Julie |
