Hi, Can somebody explained how and when the route cache will get flushed. If one does not have dynamic routing enabled and gets many routes added to the route database because of ICMP redirects, how long will the additional routes stay in cache? Also, is there a command to flush or purge the route cache? Enhancement request maybe? Thanks for your comments. -Rick

5384.1 | ICMP learned routes appear "never timing out"??? | PRSSOS::DIETZ | Pierre-Etienne DIETZ, Support/France | Fri Mar 28 1997 05:35 | 17 |
RE: 5384.0 by CSC32::R_WILLIAMS > Can somebody explained (If one does not have dynamic routing enabled) > how and when the route cache will get flushed? Hi Rick, Just as a very partial answer, I also searched through the UCX doc. and through this conference. See Note 3228.1 (below) by MyTH, and I guess that nothing changed since this time. Regards, Pierre-Etienne ! <UCX dynamic routing table, aged out?> ! HAGELN::MyTH 26-FEB-1996 -< Would Be Nice... >- ! Currently, routes learned as a result of ICMP redirect messages do not time ! out, although we are looking at such a timeout as a possible enhancement ! for a future version of UCX. ! - MyTH | |||||
