5380.0. "ftp-e-opninp on ftp get using logical names" by SIOG::M_CRONIN () Wed Mar 26 1997 07:00
Hi,
This is similar to the problem that was addressed in UCX V4.0 ECO 2
(ftp ECO C), to do with parsing logicals names in in local and remote
files specs.
My customer is running UCX V4.0, V4.1 with no ECOs and V4.1 ECO Level 4.
If you do a get from a remote system using logial names in both the
input and output directory spec, the command fails if the remote
logical is not defined on the local system !
get mary:b.b sys$sysdevice:[mary]z.z
ftp-e-openin, Error opening mary:b.b for input
rms-f-dev, error in device name or inappropriate device type for
operations
I have tried this with the following combinations of UCX versions on
local and remote system:
Local Remote
4.1 (no ECO) 4.1 (ECO 4)
4.1 (ECO 4) 4.0
4.0 4.1 (ECO 4)
4.0 4.0
I have not been able to try it with V4.1 on both sides
I cannot find any reference to this in the ECOs, notes or stars. Is
this know ? Are tere plans to fix it ?
Thanks in advance,
Mary.

| In addition to .0
If the logical mary is defined on the local system then the get will
work.

Mary.
