5348.0. "telnet session hangup" by UTOPIE::BRAUN_R () Tue Mar 18 1997 12:40
Hi all,
my customer has a AXP-cluster with UCX 3.3, ECO10 (it's not supported,
but we don't want to upgrade just for test, it's a rather important
system):
There are lot of users via telnet (from Pathworks-Clients) and they
are running some ASCII-based application I don't know of.
Rather frequently some users are hanging, there are no hints on
a common remote subnet, router, group of users,..
The corresponding process is suspended (?), a stop/id seems to work,
but the process is still there (suspended).
With a large number of users, one would check the resources first, but
we found no waits or drops (see below).
From the SDA we found a TN-device (for telnet), but with UCX SHO DEV /FULL
we are not able to find it (seems to be disconnected, probably undetected
by the application).
This seems to be an application problem, but is there any
known UCX-bug causing the same ?
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ralph

| There is nothing that comes to mind.
An IPMT would be useful, and be sure to include a DUMP (or a reference
for us to fetch one) and/or a protocol trace. [preferably both]
