Hello all,
I was installing UCX033 on VAX system, and I have a FTP problem when I connect
to remote Host.
The problem is like below :
In first time the connection to remote host is well.
Then we FTP, open remote host, then login with username and password
succesfully. Next we copy a file from remote to local host. The first file
is succesfully copied. When we copy the second file,
the connection to remote host was down.
The problem,the process (copying second file) look like running,
doesn't have any error message, and this proccess take a long time and look
like hang. We waiting this process for long time until the connection is well,
but after the connection is OK, the proccess is still hang.
Would you like to give me an explanation when the connection was down,
why the procces was hang, not give an error message.
or any UCX logical name that should be set ?

Please submit an IPMT for this case. Be sure to include as much
information as you can with it. From what I have read, I don't see any
messages, sample sessions, or traces that give me anything to go on
except for your description of a connection problem.

Hello, This is the real problem that was happen : We have a command procedure that we submit with batch process, for copying some files from remote hosts (SUN Sparcstations). The command procedure is : $ FTP open httower1 user user1 user1 mget mms*.mim mdel mms*.mim close $ FTP open httower2 user user1 user1 mget mms*.mim mdel mms*.mim close quit $ exit This batch was re submited every 5 minutes continuosly. Remote hosts (SUNs) are connected via microwave and wireless bridge that some time have trouble that coused by weather. This command procedure was hang, when : 1. login to remote host successful, then the connection was trouble. So this batch is hang. If we check with show que the batch status is executing. 2. After login with user user1, but the password not yet come, than the connection was trouble. So this batch is hang too. 3. After command mget mms*.mim, then the connection was trouble. And this batch is hang. Could you help me to solve this problem. Your suggestion is verry appreciated. Thank a lot. Best regards, Ros | |||||

Please re-read .1.
Also, you are running UCX V3.3. There have been numerous corrections
and behavioral changes to FTP in recent releases. I would upgrade to
V4.1, latest ECO.
