    Howdy
    
    I'm helping a field person w/ an smtp problem between two ucx 4.1 eco 4
    systems.  One system is running the Digital Firewall for VMS and is
    configured w/ the relay option.  An MX record routes mail to the
    firewall system, the firewall then routes mail to an internal mail hub
    via an internal mx record.  
    
    I telnet'ed to port 25 on the firewall system and initiated an smtp
    session by hand.  For the from address I entered the following...
    
    mail from:[email protected]
    
    With mail stopped on the firewall we do a show mail and see the message
    with the appropriate sender and recipient.  We start mail with
    UCX$SMTP_PROTO_DEBUG and UCX$SMTP_PROTO_TRACE defined and get the
    following error in UCX$SMTP_LOGFILE.LOG...

    It looks like a control character (\2) is inserted in the from
    address and the smtp receiver on the internal mailhub chokes on it
    resulting in the 501 error.  Any idea how to resolve this
    problem or what additional debug information to gather?
