this is a *UNPROVEN* test kit (patch) on its way to
becoming an official ECO kit. Please use discretion.

Engineering has the UCX V4.1 PAT 8 (pre ECO5) update kit ready to be installed.
You can access the kit from the following area:
LASSIE::UCX$INTERNAL: (please note that the : is needed)
1.You will find the following AXP PCSI kit ( for VMS V6.1 and higher):
DEC-AXPVMS-UCXPAT8_41_5-V0500--4.PCSI;1
After you have passed DEC-AXPVMS-UCXPAT8_41_5-V0500--4.PCSI;1 to the customer,
please have them do the following to install the kit correctly:
(1) Install UCXPAT8_41_5 using PCSI utility
(2) REBOOT the system for the patch to take effect
(3) test the patch against the reported problem.
2.You will find the following VAX ( for VMS V6.1 and higher) vmsinstallable kit:
UCXPAT8-041.A;1
UCXPAT8-041.B;1
After you have passed UCXPAT8-041 kit to the customer
lease have them do the following to install the kit correctly:
(1) Install UCXPAT8-041 using VMSINSTAL utility
(2) REBOOT the system for the patch to take effect
(3) test the patch against the reported problem.
Please make the customer aware that they are testing the patch in
their environment for us. Although the patch works in our test labs,
we have not tested it against all system configurations or at all
customer sites and we have not duplicated their exact environment.
Therefore the customer is acting as our beta site for this patch, and
they must be aware of this fact before they install the patch.
Please let us know when the customer has installed and tested the patch.
