Marcia,
I presume the problem is that all these machines are in the same
cluster. If that is so, they have one of three choices:
1) Continue to run DDD 6.0 on the machines that have Rdb 6.0 or 6.1
and some VMS version less than 7.0, but not run DDD 6.0 on the
Rdb 7.0 VMS 7.0 Alpha system, or
2) Install ROR 7.0 (ROR is the new acronym for DDD) on the Alpha
machine that runs VMS 7.0 and Rdb 7.0 and stop running DDD 6.0
on the other machines, or
3) Install ROR 7.0 on all machines in your cluster and run it with
either Rdb 6.1 or 7.0.
We do not support two versions of DDD/ROR on the same cluster.
DDD 6.0 will not work locally with Rdb 7.0 or VMS 7.0.
ROR 7.0 will work with VMS 6.1 or 7.0 on Alpha and VMS 5.5-2 on up for
VAX and either Rdb 6.1 or 7.0.
Running ROR 7.0 with Rdb 6.0 has restrictions. You can transfer to remote
systems that have Rdb 6.0, but you cannot run ROR 7.0 to access local Rdb
6.0 databases.
