251.1 | Have them upgrade to version 6.0-11 | BROKE::PROTEAU | Jean-Claude Proteau | Fri Nov 29 1996 20:18 | 10 |

The X in the version most likely means that a special version was made
for that customer. Don't worry; there's nothing peculiar or
unsupported about it.
When Rdb was sold to Oracle, they changed the name of the product. DDD
did not recognize Rdb 7.0 as Rdb because of the product name change.
Version 6.0-11 should correct that.

Merci Claude,
The problem with the X version is to know if the bug fixed in this
special version is also fixed in 6.0-11 (Null terminate string with
Sybase)
If the problem is fixed they will upgrade, if not what can they do ?
Is it fixed in version 7 ?

| Louis,
I've asked someone to look into this so that we can give a definitive
answer.

The bug is NOT fixed in ROR V6.0-11. It is fixed in ROR V7.0-0, which
has not yet been released but which we are working to complete very
soon. Note too that the problem also appeared in SQL V6.0. I don't
recall if SQL fixed the problem in their V6.1 or if they waited until
their V7.0. Since ROR V7.0 will be supported with SQL V6.1 or V7.0, if
your customer has SQL V6.1 it would be worth finding out from the SQL
group if the problem was corrected in SQL V6.1 or not.

Can they use ROR 7 FT3 for their tests ?
They plan to use ROR 7 with RDB 7: in this case SQl will work ?

251.6 | Yes | BROKE::PROTEAU | Jean-Claude Proteau | Tue Dec 03 1996 14:07 | 5 |
| Yes, see notes 8.7 and 8.8 for the kits. If they use the latest ROR
7.0 Beta kit with the released SQL 7.0, the uppercasing problem should
be fixed.
