227.0. "Replication Option Versions & Support" by ORAREP::CHEFS::FAGG_L () Wed Jul 03 1996 12:37

I'm sorry if this is a daft question, but it is sometimes difficult to
    keep track of software versions....

Am I correct in assuming that the version of the Rdb Replication
Option which is currently shipping works with Oracle Rdb Version 6.0?
There has been a lot of talk in this notesfile about Rdb Version 6.1 &
7.0, so I thought it wise to check!

    Thanks in advance

The version of the Replication Option currently shipping from Oracle is
V6.0-11. It works with Oracle Rdb verion 6.0 or 6.1. The only thing
of which I'm aware that fails is the Replication Option's IVP if run
using Rdb 6.1. The reason is that the IVP ships with an Rdb 6.0 test
database and the IVP was not designed to work with more than one
version of Rdb. That will change in a future version of the ROR. As
for working with Rdb 7.0, it probably will, though I've done no
    testing.

A further question in the same vein...

Will ROR V7.0 work with Oracle Rdb version 6.0?

    Thanks,

Will ROR V7.0 work with Rdb version 6.0? It depends on what you mean
    by "work with".

ROR, by its nature, deals with mutliple systems. The system on which
ROR V7.0 is installed and runs will require Rdb V6.1 or V7.0. That
does not prevent you from transferring data from/to a remote system
    that has Rdb 6.0.
