an "Act of Kindness" that they recorded from some viewer. Any viewer

Schmaltzy, but nice.

Here it is:
The vast majority of people didn't kill anyone today, or any other day.
The vast majority of husbands and/or wifes didn't abuse their spouse
today, or any other day.
The vast majority of parents didn't abuse their children today, or any
other day.
The vast majority of folks went to work today and all other days and
worked to provide for themselves and/or their loved ones.
The vast majority of people didn't rob anyone today.
The vast majority of men didn't rape anyone today.
The vast majority of people are living fairly happy and productive
lives, today and every other day.
The vast majority of folks are good people who are compassionate hard
working, loving people.
These are things that might behoove each and every one of us to
remember every day. I try to, sometimes it's hard with all that the
illustrious newspeople bring us, but they are indeed the facts.
Good day to all,
Mike

not feed the general need for sensationalism. However I believe that
we also need to know or be reminded every day that there are a large
number of truly amazing things happening every day that represent the
good in people. I realize what was mentioned in the earlier note holds
true (that every day a majority of people are acting responsibly).
What I want to hear about though are the acts that really go beyond
doing what you are supposed to do (we are supposed to be good
citizens, etc.) and which fall into the category of "beyond the call of
duty". I believe that probably every day at least 1% of Americans are
going beyond the call and that amounts to over 2 million events every
day! These are the things we need to talk about a lot more.

There has been a big advance in plasma physics in controlling plasma

triple the power output with the same equipment and power input, and moves

don't know how long ya' been in the contract biz binky, but let
an old timer offer some advice: if'n ya' want to _stay_ in this
business, ya' best keep thoughts like this to yizself. i will add
that in my experience, when contractors (such as myself) are
brought in, it's usually to assist full time workers who are
already grossly over-burdened. i know that's the case here where
i work... the employees are highly motivated, under-compensated,
under-appreciated, but none-the-less are peddling as fast as
they can. if i was running a company, i don't think there's a
single person in this group that i wouldn't be glad to have
working for me... on the other hand, i have lots of experiences
with contractors who i wouldn't pay a nickle for...

The wonderful experience of knowing that you have come in at their
darkest hour, in your shining armor to save the day for the good guys!
If next week you are working for their competition, that's ok, 'cuz
then they are the good guys. Contractors are expected to walk on
water at all times, know all, do all, and do it with a smile on their
face. Remember that you are a contractor, one of a rare breed. The
kind of individual who can come in when the chips are down, and make
everything right again. You are the cavalry who comes over the hill,
the relief column that shows up just in the nick of time. If your
efforts come to naught, and the project still dies a miserable death,
you have done every thing that you could to make things right. Even
Superman loses one every now and then. Your, mission should you decide
to accept it, is to ride in, clean up the town, and then ride off into
the sunset. Possibly never to be thought of again, but you have done a
good job, therefore you are the hero. If this is not what you want to
do with your life, then I suggest you find another line of work.

| Kids, nostalgic boomers put the sizzle in Fizzie sales
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Warren Epstein
Plop, plop, fizz, fizz -- oh, what a splash from the past this is.
Fizzies, those '60s-era Alka-Seltzer-like tablets that turn water into
soda, are back and fizzing.
"It's been a hit," says Stan ("the Fizzie man") Teeple, vice president of
sales and marketing for Premiere Innovations in Santa Monica, Calif., which
reintroduced Fizzies with a national rollout last month.
"Part of the appeal is the nostalgia factor. People remember Fizzies like
they do their first kiss they had as a teen-ager. It may not have been the
best, but you remember it being a good kiss. Nobody says, `yuk!' and spits
it out."
That's not entirely true. Figuratively speaking, the Food and Drug
Administration spit Fizzies out in 1968, when it banned all products with
cyclamates, artificial sweeteners identified as possible carcinogens.
Fizzies were pulled from the shelves.
But Premiere Innovations recently decided to reformulate them. The new
Fizzies are bigger, more colorful, tastier -- and they're legal, sweetened
with NutraSweet.
Coloradans already have plopped about 24,000 packages of Fizzies into
water, Teeple says.
And it's not just nostalgic baby boomers doing the plopping.
"Kids have gotten ahold of them and they're doing funny things," Teeple
says. "They're putting them in milk, orange juice, combining three
different flavors and making `suicides.' "
The first Fizzies were invented by Emerson Drug Co., the original makers of
Bromo-Seltzer. In 1962, Warner Lambert Co. bought Emerson and released
Fizzies nationally.
The new Fizzies are available at local Albertson's supermarkets; six-tablet
boxes sell for 89 cents. Boxes also include information on getting new
Fizzies caps and shirts.

| One of the instructors at the mountain used to work for Digital and
either volunteered or was volunteered for one of the packages a year or
so ago. Has not really worked since other than teaching skiing. He
won $50K in the Mass Millions a few weeks ago. I was really happy to
hear this. It could not have happened to a nicer individual.
