159.31Boat drinks 101CONSLT::MCBRIDEaspiring peasantFri Dec 09 1994 10:5916
Hey! Boat drinks ain't got no fruit except the odd wedge of lime, maybe
a cherry but never skewered together (or alone). They ain't got no
umbrellas or any unnatural shades of blue. No sweet sugary goo added
    either.

Start with rum over ice, preferrably dark, preferrably Mount Gay.
    Add something.
    Squeeze lime in glass.
Drop squeezed lime rind in glass.
    Stir with finger.
    Drink.
    Repeat as necessary.

Variants use of a blender to concoct daiquiris, rumaritas etc.

Deviants use umbrellas and unnatural blue colorings :-).

Big 1/3 lb. burger (w/ or w/out options)
    	Fries
    	Chef's Salad
Spinach Salad (with warm bacon dressing if ya want)
Caesar Salad (no they will NOT hold the garlic or anchovies)
and assorted munchies (peanuts, popcorn, and chips n' dip.

    RE-1
Have you got a job in DEC?
(You seem to spend all your time in conferences-no wonder Dec is having
financial troubles-paying you for doing nil.)

Have you got a sense of humour?
(It seems a lot of people out there have difficulties coming to term
with a sarcastic type of humour- Our sense of humour is abusive but is
is supposed to be taken with a pinch of salt -You people(in america)
seem to think that youre type of humour is the only humour that should
be used in these conferences and frankly that is discriminating,a lot
of youre humour is good and witty but most of it is flat and you should
look past the boundaries of america(as a lot of americans think america
is the world) for a different style now and again.
    YOU TAKE THINGS PERSONALLY

    Why are you so serious?
I haven't met a bunch of people like you lot and I don't want too
either,I don't mean to offend but you are really boring people who
take things far too seriously and you should really Get a Life.

This reminds me of a true story... I was with some people once (I
hesitate to call them friends), and we were in a bar. One of the guys
was being extremely fresh with a cocktail waitress and it was clear
she didn't like it. Everytime she came to the table he'd make a crack
about her "huge trax 'o land" (my replacement phrase). Anyway, I hope
the rest of this story doesn't get deleted for R.O., because it really
can't be told any other way...

At one point, she brought a drink over and plunked it down in front of
him and said "Here, this drink is on the house." He had a pleased look
on his face and asked her "what is it?". She responded: "It's a blow
    job. You need it."

A Blow Job (the drink) is simply a shot of rootbeer schappes with
whipped cream on top. It is "supposed" to be drank by setting it on the
table, and with no hands picking it up with your mouth and swallowing
    everything in one gulp.

Betel Nuts. Rumored to produce a mildly narcotic effect. Chewed on by

Hmmmmm ... the contents of such a drink would have to represent two
extremes. One rather unforgiving, strong, difficult to swallow all by
itself; the other sweet, silky-smooth, and with a warm finish. :^o

Things that come to mind might be combinations of:

    	Akavit	and Bailey's Irish Creme
    	Southern Comfort and Amaretto
    	Metaxa and Frangelica

Join me in welcoming our house band, The Egos, back to the stage.....

	Out in the shiny night
	A rain was softly falling
The tracks that ran down the boulevard
	Had all been washed away

	Out of the silver light
	The past came softly calling
And I remember the times we spent
	Inside the NOOK cafe

Oohhh... it seemed like a holy place
	Protected by amazing grace
And we would sing right out loud
The things we could not say

We thought we could change this world
With words like love and freedom
We were part of the lonely crowd
	Inside the NOOK cafe

	Oohhh... expecting to find (???)
We would meet on that beautiful shore in the sweet by and by

Some of the dreams came true
	Some just passed away
	Some of them stayed behind
	Inside the NOOK cafe

	{guitar solo}

	The clouds rolled in
	And hit that shore
	Now that glory train
It don't stop here no more

Now I look at the years gone by
And wonder at the powers that be
I don't know why fortune smiles on some
And lets the rest go free

	Maybe the time has drawn
	The faces I recall
But things in this life change very slowly
If they ever change at all

	No use in asking why
It just turned out that way

Waal MzDeb, I dutifully chewned into WERS this AM at 11:45 only to
suffer thru at least ~30 minutes of inane drivel before the Savoyards
got on. The voices were diviyahn and the musicianship lovely &
entertaining. The miking was abysmal and the MC was an inCREDible
dimbulb, embarrassing to listen to. Nowhere near the wattage of the
worthies she was interviewing. The quality of her questions and the
emptiness of her ad-libbing was even more amateurish than the FCC
