Is it possible to define tables to DBI that are made up of only certain fields of the tables in the source database? Or must we define the entire table as it is in the database? Our customer wants to limit what the PC users see and only present a few of the fields in certain tables instead of the entire table. Is this possible?

create a view in DBI. this 'local' view will be stored in the DBI catalog and would be limited to the columns of the underlying table that you want to present to the end user. Or, you can create the view(s) in the underlying database and only import the view to the DBI catalog. hope this helps steve | |||||

Yes, it helps plenty. In fact, it such a nice and simple answer, that I'm embarrased that I didn't think of it! Thanks again... Elaine |
