1043.0. "DBI with Ross's IQ tool?" by CHOWDA::ORR () Wed Apr 03 1996 17:08
A customer just called asking if DBI would work on top of a tool from
Ross systems called IQ that does reporting on both VMS and PC's.
This product appearently does some of the things that DBI does like
joins between RMS and RDB, but newer version are becoming more
difficult to use with RMS, causing the customer to call us.
I was wondering if we could define the RMS files and RDB tables to DBI,
then point the IQ tool at the tables in DBI as if they were normal RDB
tables. Any comments or thoughts on this?
I was about to propose a pilot to them where we'd try it out on a
loan-of-products basis, although I guess that's not possible anymore...
Thanks in advance for any thoughts you might have...

| I assume Ross's IQ works with Rdb?
If it does and if it uses the Oracle Rdb ODBC driver, it will probably
work with DBI.
But we have not tested it here
thanks
