    My customer in Denmark has the same problem between rdb (6.1)
    adn oracle (7.1.6). Spaces or a space value violate a not null
    column in his oracle7 database.

    He's tried a literal value and that failed to, didn't ask if he
    used single or double quotes.

    He can successfully put in spaces via SQLplus fwiw.

    Is this a known restriction now?

    cheers,
    Steve

    p.s. Sorry didn't get the gateway version :-}

Hello Steve,

This problem has been fixed in the next release of the Oracle gateway (DBI version 7.0).
This release is currently in field test. If your customer is interested in field testing
the new release, send mail to Dan Abugov at [email protected].

    Hi Melanie,

    Thanks. The customer has FT1 of DBI. Does this have the fix?
    The customer is Novo Nordisk so I assume they're a registered
    FT site.

    cheers,

    Steve
