Word for Windows 95 V7.0a Celebris GL590, 24 Mb Two problems to do with memory: 1. Working on a master document with many sub-documents and trying to compile a table of contents results in the "Insufficient memory" error. The complete document is about 400 pages long. 2. Working on a document which contains a large number of screen dump graphics when I try and save the file after editing I get "Disk is full or too many files open" error. Have tried "Save As" and get same error. The existing size of the document is suspiciously close to 32764Kb so I wonder if Microsoft have used a word counter somewhere. Any suggestions? Martin

Do you have any tools for looking at your swap file/virtual memory usage? How much room is there on your TEMP disk. If either of these goes full then Win95 has trouble. > 2. Windows95 has a built-in number of (I think) 60 files open. You can add a line into CONFIG.SYS like FILES=120 to get more open files. HTH, Chuck |
