I will have 24 hours of free time in Switzerland soon - help me plan it! My meetings will end on Friday afternoon in Geneva. I will fly out of Geneva on Sunday morning - stay near the airport Saturday night. So I have from Friday evening until Saturday evening on my own. I would like to travel by train so some place scenic where I could stay Friday night and walk around on Saturday. I would prefer a smaller village or town to a city, but I am open to your ideas. An itinerary that takes me to a few places on Saturday is good, too. Are some places safer than others? Are there things I should keep in mind as I'll be traveling alone? Thaks you for any and all ideas! Jane

I'm on my way to Switzerland for two weeks vacation tonight so I have done alot of research, I would think that Zermatt and the Matterhorn would be an excellent try. Hopefully, some of the locals can pitch in and give you train times, etc., I know it isn't too far. Regards, Jim | |||||

How about Villars? It's beautiful and is closer, so you will not waste time travelling to and from Geneva. Not as spectacular, but pleasant with many small hotels and cafes. Christa |
