1221.0. "Econoline Crush" by POLAR::TYSICK (Prying Open my Third Eye) Mon Apr 07 1997 12:21

Well seeing how I haven't entered a group in here in a while, I
thought now would be as good a time as any.

The info I have on them now, is this...

it's mainly a Canadian Band (Out of Vancouver) except the
Lead Vocalist, Trevor Hurst (He's American) and the band has changed
three members in the past year. So the only two originals are Trever
and Bob (The guitarist?). The have two albums out (actually one is an
EP I think ?) the most recent being "Affliction". The first being
    "Purge".

These guys are kinda like "Stabbing Westward" a little heavier
though and a little lighter than "White Zombie". The add just as much
techno into their music as they do the generic sound. I'm anxiously
waiting for a new album to be released in late spring, so it's rumored.
They barely got any radio play here in Canada and I expect that to be
even less in the States or overseas. Too Bad. Cause it's great stuff!

You can check out "soundbites" off the web, just search for
"Econoline_Crush" in Yahoo. And the songs I recomend ya check out are
Track 2 - Blunt (Great psychin' out tune)
Track 3 - Wicked (Got the most radio play and you'll hear why)
Track 6 - Blood in the River (Great little guitar solo in it)
    Track 9 - Slug ( see "blunt" )
Track 10- Sycophant (see "slug" )

If ya can, check'em out and let me know what ya's think?

1221.1Cool first release!POLAR::TYSICKPrying Open my Third EyeFri Jun 06 1997 08:2330
As I hoped, their new album is out (or soon to be). I heard their
first release last night and I knew it was them before they were 10
    seconds into the tune.

The new album is called "The Devil You Know" and there are 11 cuts on
    the disc. They are...

    1. Surefire
    2. Sparkle and Shine
    3. Deeper
    4. Hollowman
    5. Home * track I heard last night.
    6. Devil You Know
    7. x3
    8. Burnt
    9. Haven't Gone Away
    10. Elegant
    11. Razorblades and Bandaides

The album was produced by Sylvia Massey who has done work with TOOL
    and Machines of Loving Grace.

Release date in Canada was for June 3rd, but will be dlayed for
some reason. No date has been confirmed for the States.

I'll give a review of this one when I pick'er up.
