1210.0. "Dominus" by AXPLAB::VLASIU (Sorin Vlasiu - Brussels, Belgium) Sun Jan 26 1997 10:15

    This topic is for the danish band Dominus.
    Listening their last (second album) "The first 9" is a fine moment.
    Very heavy, fast paced and with very effective riffs. Heavy vocals
    (close to death metal but they fit well) recalling early Coroner.
    The riffs and the overall attacks make you think about Slayer (the
    Seasons in the Abyss period).
    36 minutes of high quality thrash. Really excellent and highly
    recommended.

    After more listening over the weekend I have to say they are really
    outstanding. The riffs combine a Metal Church sound (The Dark period)
    with Slayer's energy. Add on top the heavy (processed ?) vocals which
    recall Coroner and you obtain an explosive cocktail. Really great !

    P.S. Mike, Carlos, DLe check it !
1210.2some heavy stuff here folks!SUBSYS::MSOUCYMentalmETALMikeSat Feb 08 1997 07:2010

    I received "View to the Dim" and it is QUITE heavy with some serious
    Death style vocals (processed like most I would say) and are fairly
    brutal BUT it IS quite heavy as Sorin posted. The vocals are about as
    rough as I would go for listening for music in this vein! Not super
    extreme, but rough enough as they are! I do like it so far, it is
    heavy, some speedy moments, etc...And Dominus does DOMINATE true enough
    with their music!

1210.4Really heavy and a rockerAXPLAB::VLASIUSorin Vlasiu - Brussels, BelgiumWed Feb 19 1997 08:459
    The more I listen Dominus, the more I like it. They are certainly
    candidates for the heaviest metal band. But they also rock and kick
    very effectively. And this is the point were they have advantage over
    other very heavy metal bands. A bit like some Carcass on vitamins and
    with better vocals, plus Slayer punching and Metal Church chain saw
    guitar riffs. A real killer CD.
    The record label is Diehard.
