1159.0. "Angra" by TPLAB::VLASIU (Sorin Vlasiu - Brussels, Belgium) Fri Jun 07 1996 04:34

This topic is for the band named Angra. As I understood they are bresilians but
don't play the same kind of music as Sepultura.
Angra is a progressive metal band more in line with Queensrche and Dream
Theater. Their latest album, Holy Land, received excellent reviews.
I've heard one song "Nothing more to say" and it was very impressive.
Superb guitar riffs (like QR was doing in their earlier days), great vocals
(main and background) and an outstanding song globally. The singer recalled
a bit Vicious Rumors' singer. I'll put this album on my short list.

    Hi Sorin,

    A lot of talk on the internet in alt.r-n-r.progressive about them and
    another band called Superior, titled cd 'behind'. I wonder if they were
    using a pun for that one! Get it?! Anyways, I have been trying to get
    both these bands along with Threshold (also talked about in a.r-n-r.p)
    but looks like I will have to order them instead. I have a long list of
    bands from the newsgroups/in here to eventually get (probably up around
    20 new bands now).....
