1157.0. "At the Gates - Slaught of the Soul!!!" by SUBSYS::MSOUCY () Mon Jun 03 1996 11:05

    Here's another one for you folks. Speedy, thrashy, semi-brutal vocals
    along the lines of Carcass. They are called "At the Gates" and the
    title of the disc is "Slaughter of the Soul". Pretty thrashy stuff!

    Anyone else heard of them? I think they are fairly new, maybe from some
    other bands.

    Sounds like Carcass somewhat eh? But I don't think it is him,
    especially when you get further into the cd. It's not too bad. I have
    really been getting into Tiamat though! ;-)

    	    They been around since 88-89. I like their demo better. After
            they put their 1st album "Gardens Of Grief" out back in 1990
    	    still a good piece, but I didn't like "The Red In The Sky Is Ours"
    	    which is their 2nd album put out in '91.

    >Sounds like Carcass somewhat eh? But I don't think it is him
	    Both bands are from different country and still have
	    their original line up. At The Gates just finished US
	    tour with Dissection 3 months ago.

1157.4Speaking of Carcass, they are gone!!KAOFS::C_MENENDEZCARLOS, SOO ONT MCS (705)945-7862Thu Jun 06 1996 16:1713
    	Mike:

    	Speaking of Carcass, I don't know if you knew, but they and "death"
    have ceased to exist.

    	Carcass managed to get one last album called Swansong, which I saw
    yesterday at one store. I'm going to wait and see if Columbia club
    picks it up, if not I'll buy it at the store.

    	I don't know about any details in regards with death, maybe Dle can
    shed some light.

    	Carlos
1157.5heard about that on the 'net'SUBSYS::MSOUCYFri Jun 07 1996 06:317

    I thought I read something on the net about Carcass being done, along
    with some other band(s). Can't recall which, but I don't remember
    seeing anything about Death dying :-) too.
