1146.0. "Bonham, Tracy" by BRAT::JENNISON (Salvation Is Real!) Mon May 13 1996 08:42

    Tracy Bonham has a cd out with "Mother, Mother" as the 1st single.
    Its mellow and pyscho all in one! Its a good tune. I saw her perform
    it on Saturday Night Special. I was impressed!

1146.1anyone for Tracy Bonham?SUBSYS::MSOUCYFri May 10 1996 06:379

    I was thinking the song was by someone else I have been hearing on the
    radio and it is Tracy(sp) Bonhams, I think, "Everything's fine" which
    is starting to stick on me. She will be on Conehead Obrien tonight and
    I believe AIC will be on Letterman! Gotta catch them tonight! Anyone
    else like that Bonham song? How's the disc? Is it angry/thrashy kinda
    like her tune?

1146.2BUSY::SLABOUNTYBeing weird isn't enoughFri May 10 1996 08:506

    	I heard a Tracy Bonham song the other day. Not sure what it
    	was called, but if they're only playing 1 song off the album
    	then that was very probably it. I kinda liked it ... sort of
    	similar to Alannis Morrissette.

    I don't think she's as good as Alanis Morrissette.I kind of like
    "Mother mother" but not the screaming part.

1146.5I like the aggressiveness from mellow thing ;-)SUBSYS::MSOUCYFri May 10 1996 11:138

    I like the agressive screaming part, I am sick of alanis myself....I
    wonder if Tracy is a wannabe or whatnot with similar stuff. Is she good
    looking? Better than alanis, who's ok looking from what I've seen of
    her....I'd like a review though or at least be able to skip through the
    cd before I'd buy it just for 'mother, mother'.

    Who says I don't have a chance?! ;-) Anyways, I missed it, and AIC
    when I was out of the room! I didn't even hear them playing and I had
    the tube turned up a little!! ;-( And on Conehead Obrien, I didn't
    hear her mentioned when he was talking about who was on the show.....
    Guess I didn't miss much either way!

    	Tracy is from the Boston area, and is a schooled violinist.

    	She was on the recent tour with Jimmy Page & Roger Plant,
    	according to WAAF. The morning jocks absolutely love her...

    Tracy rulz! She's got more balls than Alannis, IMO.

    And MAN can she scream!

    This chick is playing here in Ottawa on the 25th of May at Barrymore's.
    Has anyone ever caught her live? Is it worth it?

    I really like 'mother, mother'. It's a great tune.

    This Tracy Bonham album is awesome. I would highly recommend it. It
    swings back and forth from enchantingly melodic to wildly aggressive.
    There is not one song I don't like. I was trying to think of who she
    (or her band) reminds me of, and I think it's kinda Nirvana-ish (as far
    as some of the melodies go)...Very groovy album.

    SueJ, have you gotten it yet?
