| I like that tune!! Especially the lead break that kinda
sounds out of place. Don't know about their other stuff;
do know that they're supporting Megadedder on the N.E. leg
of the tour.

Try the tune's "Vote With a Bullet" and "Mine Are the Eyes of God"
GREAT tempo changes, great lyrics, I got the feeling that they were
major music school attendees/grads, possibly trained in classical.
Great slammin'

That's exactly what I thought. I was surprised to find that they were
the ones who did "Albatross". Guess I'll have to pick up this album
jugding from the last reply!

I think the singer is the guitarist after they ousted the other singer.
I have Technocracy and Blind (like the latter much better) and want to
get the new one. Not too bad. I listen to different stuff than a lot of
other people, but then again, I see what some people here are listening
to and I don't feel bad! :)

| This band have been going for years.
I`ve got "blind" and "deliverance",both excellent. Especially
Deliverance.
The older stuff is a lot more punk. I think there`s a bit of a
religious angle on the latest album,though not down your throat
a la Stryper or anything like that.

IMO, not as good as "Deliverance".
[And there are 3 or 4 "hidden" tracks on this one.]

1053.21 | Deliverance - I think... | SUBSYS::MSOUCY | | Mon Apr 10 1995 05:46 | 12 |

I think it is called Deliverance, and that is one of two songs on it. I
have Blind and Technocracy, don't care for the latter as it is VERY
speedy in my opinion compared to my tastes. Now Blind I thought was
good, it has some speedy stuff in it, but not overkill (now there is a
ok band too!) and fairly heavy. They dumped the singer after that album
from what I gather and I think the guitarist (who sang on vote with a
bullet) is singing along with maybe someone else.....let me know how it
all sounds (anyone that has it that is!) as I was considering getting
it myself to see how it was.

Actually, after finally getting it (went with it on the Columbia House
deal I signed up for) and it isn't too bad! Some decent tunes on it and
some acoustic stuff w/keys/string instruments. I'd like to hear what
the re-mastered Blind sounds like and the additional tracks/hidden
tracks on it!

| CoC is playing here in Ottawa at Barrymore's Aug.16. Are they good? I
listened to they're latest CD and it's great, but I've also listened to
Technocrasy (sp) and it wasn't that good. So I'm a little hesitant on
going.
Any opinions?

I picked up "Technocracy" about a month ago.
Those of you who go out and buy this album expecting to hear some
more stuff like "Albatross" and "Clean My Wounds" are going to be
very disappointed. This is a very heavy punkish album.
The one I have is some sort of a remaster with extra tracks ...
not different tracks, but "alternate versions" of some of the
songs on the album, like the title song.
My favorite of theirs is "Deliverance". I'll have to go back and
listen to "Blind" again, since it's been awhile.

1053.27 | CLEAN MY WOUNDS IS COOL... | KDCA01::CDCUP_TORREN | | Tue Aug 29 1995 15:05 | 10 |
|
I've only heard the earlier stuff a couple of times, I didn't
find it punkish though. I found it very heavy, and nothing like
the new CD (with new singer). They also just played here in Ottawa,
on the 16th, but since i was still in the Hospital I missed it,
but a buddy said it was a very good show, alot of the new stuff,
but also quite a bit of the older heavier stuff. I like the new
CD, I didn't like the older stuff as much...

1053.28 | Isn't the singer the guitarist?? | SUBSYS::MSOUCY | | Wed Aug 30 1995 07:05 | 7 |

I thought the singer was the guitarist that did the singing on "Vote
with a Bullet" from Blind? I personally like Blind better. Deliverance
is decent also. I have Technocracy, don't care for it much at all. I
was hoping it was going to be along the lines of Blind.....

Shawn was right. "Wiseblood" cranks! I'm really liking most
of this CD...
A little edgier than Kyuss, but more down to earth than Monster
Magnet... the buzz guitar "almost" borders on Iommi worship,
and there's just enough Led Zep influences to keep the band
out from being too hardcore metal...
