I have to admit to liking Eric Carmen's stuff (and his work with

I'd have to say I hit rock bottom when I bought the GTR album in '85
with Steve Hackett and Steve Howe.  Total garbage!  At least Jonathan
Mover went on to bigger and better things with Alice Cooper.

Just my couple 'a cents worth.      

    Jonathan Mover also played on most of the Joe Satriani albums!

Worst album of recent memory;

Genesis - The Way We Walk - Live - Vol 2, The Longs (snappy title, huh)
	when a band who were once so good fall to this, it's time for them to do 
	the honourable thing an fall on thie swords.

Other bad memories (from a collection of about 700);

AC/DC		Who Made Who (I know it's a soundtrack, but ...)
Baron Roja	Larga Vida Al Rock and Roll (spanish !! - why oh why did I ...)
The Runaways 	Live
Scorpions	Blackout - the worst album by a great band

There's also a hell of a lot of stuff pushed away in corners that I've forgotten 
about, because I listened to it a few times, thought "S**TE", and hid it. I'm 
sure that if I ever delved into these corners, I could add another 20 or 30 to 
this list !!.

By the way, I thought the GTR thing was OK (but then again, I haven't listened 
to it for about 6 years !!!)

    I don't think I have any albums that haunt me from my past, 
    all the ones which had a likely-hood for blackmail I burn't/melted
    or hid them in my sisters collection and took the mick out of her.
    
    On second thoughts I'm still being haunted my the sad existance of
    Status Quo!

Sure.

As long as you're OK with vinyl. I'm not actually sure whether I've still got 
the Runaways album. It may be still at my parent's, but they may have junked it. 
I'll check next time I'm there (could be a while though). As for the Scorps, I 
can Air Mail it over (I don't know how long UK - US mail takes), and you need 
only send me the mail cost - I don't want anything for the LP.

Yeah, perhaps you're partly right. I only feel that way about Blackout because I 
think it's awful in comparison with the rest of the Scorps stuff (just MHO of 
course). It probably isn't TRULY embarrasing. 

Certainly not as embarassing as the first record I ever owned. The Wombling 
Song. Probably doesn't mean a lot in the States, but the Wombles are basically 
small furry puppets that live on Wimbledon Common and collect the litter, using 
it to make useful implements for their cave. (And this was before "Environmental 
Awareness" !!). The tune was a sickly, syrupy thing by Mike Batt, which I still 
hear from time to time, as the series keep getting repeated. 

My only defences are; 

1) My Mum bought it for me. 
2) It was well over 20 years ago.
3) I was about 7

The case for the defence rests.

    I had a Leo Sayer album too, but no XXX XXXXXX.
    
    Bob Welch's "French Kiss" was a roolin album though.

    I probably still have a couple of those K-Tel compilation albums.  
    Can't remember the names but one of them had Edgar Winter group doing

    I think that Jan Akkerman (guitarist for "Focus") was the first true
    "shred" player with the one exception of a guy named Django Reinhardt
    who was doing that stuff in the 20's.

    agreed.The influence of one man over the whole world wide jazz scene is
    incredible.His grandchildren play jazz like their grand dad did but
    with not nearly enough of teh originality and flair.

Whoa, did I hear Mike Batt...Is he still around?  I've got some
old Mike Batt vinyl. It's a concept album centered around tarot cards.  I
like the tunes except for this wretched disco song he kept on there (I guess
when you record in the late 70's you had to have a disco song!)

Yup, Mike Batt is still alive !! In fact last year (I think) he put on a musical 
called "The Hunting of the Snark" at some theatre in London. Sadly, I missed it 
!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MC5 was probably one of the most-ahead-of-their-times bands ever! I remeber listening
to their "Kick out the Jams" live album eons ago and beeing completly blown away!
The best live album ever made! Most bands today don't even come close to their energy 
and total-f***in'-madness. The two guitarrists, Wayne Kramer and Fred "Sonic" Smith 
were something else.

it, I bought Xanadu as well. I liked ELO at the time (nowt wrong with that, by 
the way). Thanks to intensive therapy on the NHS, I'd forgotten all about the
