Hey, came across a cool band out of NYC called Lovemaker! These guys are WAY glam rockers ala KIZZ in the early 70s. yeah yeah, I know, you're going "that's been done", but hey, what goes around comes around, right?? Anyways, they have the hair, the makeup, the wild costumes, and the catchy 4-chord rock tunes alao KIZZ off Hotter Than Hell. They're shopping major mgmt. and a label right now, so only their demo is available frmo their shows. But keep an eye out for them...

It seems like the industry pendulum is swinging towards the more "classic" glam rock sound as it had in the mid 80's. Most of the once-bad-a*s bands, like White Zombie, Pussy Galore, and Prong have sold out to the general populous. There are too many chiefs and not enough indians in the heavy rock arena. I believe you'll start to hear more of this wimp-rock surfacing in the next couple of years. I've seen dozens of glam rock shows, including Wild Boyz, Baton Rouge, Brother Cain, The Throbs, Livewire, Trixter, Britny Fox, Don Dokken, etc. and I've always ended up leaving after half an hour due to the lack of integrity on their part. The only glam rock band I have any respect for is The Cult...at least they take some time to write some good pop songs. Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox, /\/\ichael | |||||
