989.0. "Dumpy's Rusty Nuts" by SSMPRD::SREGAN (Are there any monsters under my bed tonight?) Fri Jan 07 1994 06:45

I figured it was about time a Dumpy's topic was started and it appears
I'm just the man for the job!

For those of you not in the know, Dumpy's Rusty Nuts are a British
R'n'B style band led a certain Dumpy Dunnell. What makes them so good
is not only the music but also Dumpy's sense of humour that he always
    incorporates into the music.

    Lyrics such as

"This little piggy ate a pizza
And this little piggy had chips
And this little piggy's coming round to your house
He's gonna get a feel of your sweet t!ts"

"This little piggy ate roast beef
And this little piggy had none
And this little piggy's coming round to your house
He's gonna let you have it right up your bum"

are mixed in with more standard "serious" lyrics.

(He's also a fan of British bikes and enjoys insulting Jap bikes and
    their riders.)

They do a mixture of their own stuff and covers such as Tush and Out Of
Reach and they tend to hang around with Hawkwind and Motorhead. Albums
    to date:

    		Somewhere In England
    		Hot Lover
    		Get Out On The Road

but there may be more I haven't heard of.

Anyone else out there heard them or am I the only warped individual who
    appreciates this stuff.

    The Bishop

P.S. They changed their name to Dumpy's Rusty Bolts a few years back for
a short while cos DJs over here couldn't bring themselves to say
Dumpy's Rusty Nuts! Luckily common sense and good taste prevailed
and they changed their name back again.

i remember seeing (or not ;-}) dumpy's at a two bit sleazy dive called
    SHADOWS many years ago.

talk about bikers, i was in the loo when in walked these two burly
types (huge bellies and denim wastecoats) and produced bike chains and
proceeded to knock the sh*t out of the poor bugger at the next wizz
    pot.

i was very smashed (luckily) at the time and managed to wander by
    without a scratch 8^).

to see anything, not cos i'm small, but i was flat on my back and oot

re .0,

They have another album out that I know of, `Firkin Well Live', recorded
at the Fleece & Firkin at Bristol, which is an excellent double LP.
Unfortunately their stuff is a bit difficult to get hold of... anybody
know of any record shops in the south east I could try?

Chris.

    FWIW:
"This Little Piggie" was originally done by Doug Clark and the Hot
    Nuts back in the 60's...
