878.0. "Heavy Bones" by COMET::FRISBYA (SINGLE with TOYZ) Mon Sep 28 1992 10:54

This band has a member that came from the Boston local scene and
they also hired RENT-A-DRUMMER Frankie Banali (ex-Quiet Riot drummer)
for the album. Have you heard of them? I don't think the album is out
yet but it should be soon. Discuss them here. 8)

This is one of the ones I got used for $2, and I listened to it
last night to see if Greg House's impressions were right ...
but I didn't notice anything wrong with the mix. Maybe you heard
some kind of a bad mix or something, because I could hear every-
thing OK, even on the song you mentioned ["4 A.M. TM"].

The album is OK overall ... 2 good songs to start, 4 ballads, an
instrumental [co-written by Nuno], a couple more ballads and a
couple more rockin' songs to finish it off. The last song on
the album seems to be the best, IMO.

I donno, I heard it on an ok car stereo (nothing spectacular, but not
real bad, the stock one in my Toyota Camry) and the mix sounded whacked
bad. All the other songs I heard on the same drive home sounded fine.

Greg (who'd be willing to listen again, but not to buy it first)

The drums are your basic "keep the beat" drums ... some OK guitar
    	work, but nothing spectacular.

The vocalist takes some getting used to, but is pretty good.

I liked the music, for the most part, but the rhythm guitar (which BTW,
sounded great) were so forward in the mix that I couldn't hear the
singer or the guitar solos. It was very strange.

I didn't honestly remember much about the drummer...

He got a better mix on his new stuff, but then again, I haven't heard
any vocals for his guitar sound to stomp on...

funny, i was looking through all the cheap cd's i bought and this one
one i hadnt listened to yet. i just threw it on yesterday and thought
the first 2 songs were pretty cool (on my way out the door so didnt
hear any others). and i log in, and here it is being commented on...
so far, i was reminded occasionally of vince neil (ToP days) by the
    voice inflections, some asmith...
