| Those Cd players store the info in their internal memory. They add up
some numbers from the CD like track times etc. to determine when you
put that same CD back in.
I've only heard of players that store an album title. Are there really
ones that store track names? I have a CD player program for DOS that
does that, but that's a different story.

Nope.
In the CD standard, each release is assigned a unique number (sorta
like the Library of Congress numbers on the side of your albums) which
is recorded in the CD's header information. The way it knows you have
a particular CD in is by reading the header.
THe song and album title information is recorded there too. although
not all releases have that information. I think it's optional in the
standard.
There are also players that you can program to play the songs for a
particular title in a particular order, or skip some songs completely.
It can remember, for example, to skip "Mother" on the Police's
"Synchronicity". ;-)

I know, I have one! And the manual SAYS it uses track times to tell
one CD apart from the other.

This would make more sense. I stand corrected.

in _Roll the Bones_ as the every other song ...B^)
