700.0. "Lillian Axe" by COMET::FRISBYA (Chaos is what killed the dinosaurs, darling) Tue Jan 28 1992 08:43

Lillian Axe has just released their 3rd album entitled Poetic Justice.
Top tracks from the band's first two albums are available on the
compilation album Out Of The Dark, Into The Light.
The first single from PJ is True Believer. I have this album and it
    made me a True Believer...

Jim: The new one is alot better than their old ones. Better
melodies, better guitar, more thought. How can you pass up my offer?

April':Shotgun vs. Lillian....Owww! That hurts. No way I'm picking!

Man...My mind was blown this weekend. Totally intense!!!!
I saw Lillian Axe on Friday night and they just make me feel
something that I have NEVER felt in a 'bar' situation.
The song were ON....the band was ON.....And the attitude of the whole
crowd was on. The drummer made me feel like I was nothing. (Shut up)
    8) He was the best drummer/showman i've seen in a long time. I told
my cousin so he and his big oger friends rounded him up for me.
We talk shop for a good half hour....It was really cool!
Word cannot express how i felt watching this band. It was a good
feeling like when you heard your first rock song and really got off on
it. As far as the opening acts....No comment.
I don't want to get in trouble again....8)

one!. I love the remix of that Badfinger song that they do.

I heard a couple of songs and a short interview by these guys on the
radio last week as I was headed outta town and I liked the songs.
Catchy pop-rock stuff! The guys in the band that were interviewed
seemed pretty together and down to earth.

I'd be willing to check out more of their material sometime.

BTW, regarding their albums, they said they had two on their old label
(who didn't promote them) and the new one is on a new label. I thought
they said that the old albums would be available through the new label
    pretty soon.

Well I went and saw this band last night at a small club.......
I've never heard any of there songs before, but just listening to them
play all there songs sounded fairly catchy. The band went through a short
set (i can't remember any of the names of the songs!). The band seemed to
be enjoying themselves but i'm sure they were a little disappointed
with the crowd.......There were only about 7 people there. Even though
there was hardly anyone there the band went through there set (i'm sure
a big ego band would'nt have bothered to play!!!) and went through the
motions, The singer ended-up just talking with everyone as he did'nt
really need a mic for everyone to hear him. Overall I'm not gonna buy
any of there albums and I would'nt see them live again but it was a
    gig!

They're playing the marquee in london soon i bet there hoping more people
    are gonna turn up there.

p.s. even though i did'nt enjoy it that much the friend i went with
    said she did so there.

I wouldn't say that, Pete. We like a lot of the same stuff. I'm just
not heavy into the new Maiden. In general terms, LA are much lighter
then what I'd typically listen to.

But it's no problem that we don't agree, that's what gives this world
spice! I mean, I wouldn't beat you up 'cause you liked something I
    didn't or vice versa.

They're going to release their first two on another label?!
It figures! I spent *3* years trying to find their first
one on CD, and I finally found it last month at a flea
market as a cutout for $2.00! I was psyched! I should
    have waited!!

Steve: Their new label is called "GrandSlam Records"...

The new record company did release their old albums on a compilation
CD called "Out of the darkness...Into the light". It a merge of the
    first two.

I saw the compilation CD, but it doesn't contain ALL of the
first two releases. It's good for anybody out there that
may want the best from the first two, though.

HA!HA! That's what I said when I saw who they were signed too!
The little logo for the company is a baseball guy hitting a homerun.

I don't think that GrandSlam is going to release the first two
    albums seperate.
