Spinal Tap lives in Heavy Metal: Taken from Metal Edge without pemission... Back in the band Spectres, we had confetti rigged-a box and a fan-and the whole thing dropped on MY head. BRET MICHAELS,POISON I'm doing my drum solo and I'm playing real good , and my drum kit doesn't come down. I'm waiting, an eternity. I had to finish the solo on my other kit, making things up as I went. When things happen to me, they happen big time, like falling in the 'Talk Dirty To Me' video. That was real-RIKKI ROCKETT,POISON On the way to the show, I got picked up for outstanding parking violations and ended up in the San Francisco jail. I was late for the show, but did end up making it. TROY LUCCKETTA,TESLA They used to spell our name wrong in the magazines in the early days-- Telstar, Tulsa. They never got it right. BRIAN WHEAT,TESLA This tour manager of ours had suites and we were in dumpy non-air conditioned sh*thole rooms. We fired him. FRANK HANNON TESLA England , 1984 tour, Newcastle. We couldn't find the stage.-Gene Simmons,KISS One time we were led to the stage door but it didn't go to the stage. Another time there was a collsion between me and Gene. Thank God it was in the dark. BRUCE KULICK,KISS During a gig in high school, I got hit in the head by the bass player's bass. I finished the gig with blood all over my face and was rushed to the hospital for ten stitches. Steven SHAREAUX,KIK TRACEE Getting hit by a water balloon on stage and having to jump up and down to avoid being shocked. GREG HEX,KIK TRACEE Using too short of a guitar chord at a show. When I went to make my big move, I pulled my whole amp off the stage. MIKE MARQUIS,KIK TRACEE I wore a brand new shirt during a gig at the Roxy show in Hollywood. Afterwards, I ran off the stage to realize the shirt shrunk four sizes on my back. The sleeves barely made it past my elbows.ROB GRAD,KIK TRACEE I was playing in a club in Texas and our light man had mounted this police lighton top of my gong stand behind me. He didn't do it good enough--The thing fell off and hit me on the head in the middle of a song. JOHNNY DOUGLAS,KIK TRACEE During our last show of the 1984 European Tour, I threw my microphone up in the air and it never came down. I later discovered that the crew played a trick on me. They had rigged a fishing line so the mic just stayed up there. KLAUS MEINE, SCORPIONS This thing is huge....with lots of different bands. More Later! Frizkid

I gotta few of those from when I was with the Gorehounds... The time I was unloading at a show in Portland, Maine and I slammed a finger in the car door. Sat backstage all night with it on ice and then played. The gig at the Ranch House in Marshfield. Only 6 or 8 people there and they were playing pool! Headlining the Rathskeller on Halloween night 1987. That was a highlight. Getting a flat tire on the way back from a show at 242 Main in Burlington VT...and no jack and a car full of drum equipment. The first car to pass stopped and helped. It was out in the middle of nowhere! Then the next day with the small spare still on the car we had the simulcast/interview at WERS, and from there to WFNX. It made it. |
