| Steven Adler is one of the worst drummers I've ever heard. Every song on the
first album goes
thump, thump, snare
thump, thump, snare
bleah!

Hey....Alot of drummer have made carrers from doing the same thing.
I'm not saying it's right but he sold more albums on one record than
alot of "technical" drummer have in their lives.

| That's reality.......The business is selling. If that's what sells
the record companies will find some dork to play it.
All of these drummers are set for life now......
All it took was thump, thump , snare.

I think Adler is a good drummer. Besides, you can only do what the song
calls for as far as what goes with what.

The album won't sell as much as GnR does but hopefully it will break
open Danny Vain.
I wonder if Steven is going to win his court date with the GUNNERS?
If he did he could finance the next ten albums. 8)
BTW-Roadcrew was the name of the band Steven was in with Slash before
GnR.

| I actually never noticed Steven Adler until I saw them at Great Woods with
Aerosmith. The way the soundman cranked the drums put Steven way up in the mix
and you couldn't help noticing that he did the same thing for every song. I
think that he got stuck on the drugs part of Sex, Drugs and R&R.
I agree that there are drummers that don't seem to do much but are still good
like (dare I say? Charlie Watts). Not every drummer is going to be a Neil Peart,
but some are really hacks.
Sorry to mess up the RoadCrew note like this...

| hey, don't knock Charlie Watts.I once saw an interview with some of the
Rolling Stones talking to several people and when asked what was the
thing that kept them together for 25 years the all replied "Charlie
Watts".He was quoted later in saying that the comment was "bollox".

| He's a good BackBone for a band like that..
He's wanted to leave many times(like alla the rst of them)but didn't.
If he did,I feel things would have happened much more to the
negative side to the band.

664.13 | Is it Charlie Watts or Milli Vanilli | NEMAIL::MERCIER | I will Choose Freewill | Wed Jan 08 1992 12:18 | 13 |
| Re: .10, .11
I agree with both opinions. Charlie had good timing, but his chops and
beats were booorrrriiing. Granted you can only play what the music
calls for, but I have heard many stones tunes that could have more of
a creative beat. I read that on the Stones Steel Wheels tour Charlie
had most of his parts sequenced, because he could not handle being
consisent night after night. (the article said because of his age)..
Charlie should retire...!!
Bob...who thinks the stones are dead and should remain that way(they
are a band of the past)
