810.0. "Morta Skuld" by MILKWY::LE (GivepraisetoSatan,he'saGodofGods) Fri Oct 11 1991 10:28
MORTA SKULD combine an eerie, MORBID ANGEL sound with a
heavy riffing style like FUNERAL NATION. This is a real smooth
flowing demo with many changes and a few catchy parts. The
production is above average with a cool drum and guitar sound.
A few of the riffs aren't all that original but they work out
fine for the most part. A couple of the mosh parts sound cool...
they are in the old SEPULTURA vein. The vocals are brutal and
sometimes remind me John Tardy. The band has more talent and
song writing skills than most other bands I've heard lately.
There are some improvements over the first tape, "Gory Departure,"
which is also a cool tape, MORTA SKULD isn't an all out brutal,
rip out your throat type of band. They're heavy but melodic
(sort of) with some memorable parts.
