| Bret is a diabetic. I heard (don't remember from where) that his
diabetese(sp) has something to do with the concert being postponed.
I never care to listen to George Michael, but you can be sure his
performance will be entertaining. He won't be as dull as the Bullet
Boys were this past Friday.

| See my comments in the Firehouse and Lynch Mob notes for specifics,
but here's what I thought of the performers:
Cher: Inhaled with ferocious velocity, I had to change stations to
retain my dinner
Firehouse: Played well, but their choice of material was a little weak
IMO. Probably why someone else said they lacked balls.
Lynch Mob: Terrible! Mix was awful and it just didn't sound live to
me. I guess the guys voice was ok, and that's about all
most people (non-players) hear when the listen to a band
anyway...
One thing I found *INCREDIBLY* annoying about the program in general
was that there were *WAY* too many commercials!!! Like between *every*
song (except two of LM's that were back to back) there was like 10
minutes worth of them! I swear, Cher did about 3 or 4 songs (I donno
exactly, I couldn't stand to listen to any of them in their entirity),
Firehouse did 2, and Lynch Mob did 3. And the rest of the HOUR was
commercials
All in all, the show stunk. I was sorry I wasted my time.

| All I have to say is that I saw both shows of in concert and have to
agree that it was one big commercial.The poison show wasn't that bad
but the sound was terrible!!! I think Mark Slaughter must have blown
out the sound board with all that whining a sreeching he did!! Somebody
kill that cat and get it out of its misery!!! I was pretty disappointed
in the lLynch Mob show also... the singer just didn't have the same
sound as on the CD...another example of the wonders of studio recording
maybe???? Plus who was working the sound at that show anyway?!! You
could hardly hear a damn note that George played, man was I
bummed!!!Atleast Mick Brown sound good!! Still one of my fav skin
pounders...
As far as fire( get a real job )house went, I'd rather watch
Cher...

| I haven't seen Motorhead in concert and I always found their music heavy but
with poor sound recording.
But things have radically changed with their last album "1916" which is a gem
of pure rock and roll played with high energy and speed. It's one of my favorite
albums of this year (and the only Motorhead album I bought ... and kept).
Even the ballads (yeah there are two ballads on it) are a new dimension for
Motorhead and they are very good.

I watched last weeks show with Judas Priest and Alice Cooper. I can't
get over Rob Halford with a Kojak look with Tatoos on his head! Whoa!
Are those for real or just fake? Also he's sporting tatoos on both arms
and his back. I was really disappointed they didn't play anything new
from Painkiller.
Its nice to see that Alice still had superb special effects on stage!
Nice touch with the monitors painted up like razor blades. Also love
the jumping into the film clips and back out again on stage. I first
saw this during Welcome To My Nightmare tour years ago! Way to go
Alice, keep up the good work!

| Oh yeah, I was really p***ed because the tv guide said Metal Church was
going to be on too, along with a few other bands.
Rob looked kinda weird with the shaved head, and he sang off key once
in awhile, but hey, it's Priest.
What can you say about Alice Cooper. His shows are always great.
As a side note, if you like good guitar playing, watch channel 44
(I think out of Boston) thursday night at 8:00 for (I hope he plays
this) a nice version of Stairway To Heaven.

See it for sure! Stanley Jordon is an incredible musician. I love it
when he plays rhythm on one guitar and lead on another. If you get a
chance to hear him live don't miss it. I heard him play Stairway and
its definately unique.

Fishbone is one of *the* most intense live bands I've ever seen.
Have to see if some of that comes through on tv. They did well
on Saturday Night Live and ok on Arsenio so.....
