I don't remember where I read it [might have been in this
conference] but Robert Plant LOVES these guys!! If he isn't
calling Dread Zeppelin a rip-off then no one should.
And the album is fantastic ... the guitarist can easily keep
up with Jimmy Page. Then again, so could I if I knew the
notes.

And BTW, they're not trying to rip off anyone [IMO]. It's a
parody album of sorts ... not in the Weird Al sense of the
word, though. More like Jim Nabors doing Beatles songs ...
uses the same songs, and puts them to a different type of
music.

Jimmy Page WAS successful ... back in the 60's, when guitar-
oriented music was still quite young. Page didn't play with
feeling, he played with a violin bow. 8^)
He'd be eaten alive if he was still playing that stuff today.

Why is it that every note that gets into a discussion on Dred Zep
(I've seen it happen in UK_MUSIC and others) gets caught up in
a debate between people who worhship LZ in one degree or another
(sayed half-serious!) to those who think LZ was nothing more than
a cranked up fuzz box?
Of course some mention of LZ should enter the discussion but why
not say the dabate for the L_Z note (39.*) and just talk about
the Dred here?
They have already shown that they're not going to continue doing the
same 'ole thing (from what I've read that is) on the next release.
So what if it's more covers but this time it will include Bob Marely,
Elvis, and Yardbirds. What they do is surely a step above covers
(and I'm not putting down covers at all) and at least they're already
varying off the track a bit by what some may expect as their next
step.
They shouldn't not be considered like the morans who lip synch and all
the other crap that we know goes on.
I missed them last time they were at The Channel and if I wasn't
going to be away on June 7th....

I had to go back and listen to "Un-Led-ed" last night, and I was
still amazed at how much I liked the album.
Tortelvis [lead vocals] has an incredible voice, with fantastic
range [not as good as Plant in his earlier days, IMO, but very
close] and no cracking. The lead guitarist makes Jimmy Page
sound like dog meat.
I've gotta get the new album soon.

The good news is that there's a new Dread Zeppelin album, and
it's called "It's Not Unusual". More good news is that they've
done an entire album of covers of 70's disco songs!! [Way!!]
The bad news is that I thing Tortelvis and Ed Zeppelin have
left the band and have been replaced. They're still good, but
they lost a few points in my book.
And the album is pretty good, too.
