551.0. "Katmandu" by DPE::STARR (SRV......I can't believe you're gone....) Tue Apr 23 1991 01:22

Katmandu is 4 out of the 5 members of Fastway - the only one missing is
Fast Eddie Clark. I have an advance copy of the CD, which doesn't list
any credits, so I can't give much info.

David King is still a hot vocalist. The other guys are S. Carroll, A. Connor,
P. Reid, and M. Meyer.

They do a pretty decent version of U2's "God Part II", and King sounds
suprisingly like Bono! The rest of the album is pretty similar to Fastway,
although it doesn't quite have the catchy riffs that Fast Eddie used to
write.

More later after I've listened to it a few times.....

BTW, the album was produced and engineered by Duane Baron and John Purdell,
two names that don't sound familiar. And its released on Epic Records.

Nope. U2 wrote it as an answer/sequel song to John's original. That's the one
Katmandu covers....Although I think that they might have credited both Lennon
and Bono for the writing of "God Part II"......
