This topic is for the Australian band Mortal Sin. I just listened their "Face of despair" CD ('89) which is a very good power/speed metal album close to Meliah Rage style. I listened the album together with Pantera's "Cowboys from hell" and it's on the second listening that I quoted better Pantera (stronger compositions and originality). At first listening Mortal Sin was sounding better because of the catchy riffs. In any case FoD is a fine album which deserves to be well recommended. It is also quite immediate music so you like it from the beginning. They have also much humor which is reflected by the ending song's words. This song is called "Robbie Soles" and here is the exact transcription of the words: R.Soles for president R.Soles for mayor R.Soles for elect. R.Soles everywhere (repeat few times..) We're all R.Soles But the best song has to be the opening "I am immortal" which may become a HM classic. And here is the composition of the band: Mat Maurer - vocals Mike Burke - guitars Paul Carwana - guitars Andy Eftichiou - bass Wayne Campbell - drums Sorin

I saw this band support Faith No More, last year. They didn't seem that good in my opinion. The singer came across as a bit of an arsehole, but since I saw them they have reportely dumped him.Maybe a good move. I also met a guy who had been their roadie for a while and he said they were a nice bunch of guys who were soooooo desperate to make it big but the singer was the dawback. infromation from down under Staynz |
