I hear them all the time on WAAF. They really don't impress me to
much. Just another new band. But, if you wanna check them out their
playing tonight at AXIS. - Kim

| Yeah, I know they're playing the Paradise tonight, that's why i'm
asking this question. It's my friends birthday and i'm trying to figure
out where the best metal music is tonight to take her there....can you
compare these people with anyone well known so i can get a feel for
their music?...thanks......../k

| I believe Gun is from Scotland and their single is called
"Better Day."
I think it's so-so. I think their name is stupid considering
the existence of LA Guns, Guns 'n' Roses.

| If it's the same band... they are from Glasgow and the name is GUN.
I found them rather boring, and therefor would not pay money to
see them!

| well we made the trek into the Paradise and here's my opinion....I hate
the Paradise....other than that.....the band is called Gun (no s) and
their big single, in terms of local airplay is called "Far Better Days".
I thought that song wasn't as good as their other stuff. I don't know if
they're remarkable or anything but i really enjoyed them. They are totally
unpretentious, no mega hair do's, no costuming...no...b.s.. they just
came out and played with alot of energy......so, i'd give the show a
thumbs up................../k

"Though it's been a veritable wasteland for hard-rock talent
over the past few years, Scotland has just provided us with
the most refreshing dose of groovin' metal in a helluva long
time. The band's called Gun (not a great name, we agree),
and they really, truly rock with heavy-beat originality. As
for the lads who make up the band, well, put it this way:
They're so green to the American metal scene, we asked
boyish-looking guitarist Baby Stafford if he was excited
about touring our great nation and meeting lots of backstage
bimbos. His reply? "What's a bimbo?" Oh, they are going
to love you, Baby!"

I have been hearing a song by these guys that is kinda
catchy...
It is called 'I wanna steal your fire' or something like that.
It IS poppy and all that other stuff, but it IS catchy!!

I've heard that song a couple times now. It IS catchy!
I picked up their last CD for $3.00; it has 3 or 4
decent songs on it, too.

I hated that album. Well, I didn't hate it enough to throw it
out a window, but hated it enough not to give it a 2nd listen.
But since I've had it for over a year now, maybe I should give it
another chance [seeing how I paid about $9 for the thing!!].

It's not a GREAT album, but has a couple that grow

greatness! 8*)

| I finally heard this song, too, and I wasn't impressed at all! The
"hook" just didn't catch my ears...not enough melody in the vocal
line for my tastes, and the chord pattern didn't thrill me.

After 4 years, it's about time to revive the topic, at least
temporarily.

Shawn,
Three that I know of :-
Taking On The World
Gallus
Swagger
The first two are very similar in style, the third is
a tad more punky..
