What country are they from, and are they getting airplay
elsewhere?
Of course, that's a hard question for you to answer.

| I think they are US (taking in consideration the names) and I never
heard something from them here in Belgium. At the time of their
apparition (in '88) Kerrang, Metal Hammer and Aardrock had full pages
in their favour (I read this in another magazine yet). The cover of the
disk has very poor information so I'll look again and bring maybe more
references.

| After more listening I can tell this CD really kicks hard ! They
practice a very direct and technical heavy metal (but no thrash) and I
can only highly recommend this CD. The singer likes to go low and high
the same way as Geoff Tate or Michael Kiske (but he stay less in the
high range than the one from Fates Warning). Check it in any case.
A last remark: the CD is also from SPV just like Oliver Magnum's (which
still remains my second to Queensrche).

| Here is some more information about Hitt Man and their first album.
The band is: Dirk Kennedy (vocals), Jim Bachi (guitars), John Kristen (guitars),
Mike Buccell (bass) and Chuck Kory (drums).
The "Hitt Man" album contains:
1. Metal sport
2. Dead on arrival
3. Will you be there
4. Breakout - very very fine
5. Backstreet rebels
6. Caught in the crossfire
7. Secret agent man - very very fine
8. Behind the lines
9. The test of time
All tracks are very fine with #4 and #7 beeing my actual favourites.

Is "Secret Agent Man" a cover or an original?
I know there's already a song by that name.

any case it is very enjoyable like all the CD.

It seems that "Secret Agent Man" is a cover as the song is written by
Berry/Sloan (no such names in the band). It is also very melodic and
immediate. Good song.

Picked up this tape a few days ago, not bad at all! I definitely
see what you mean by the Helloween influence, Sorin. And the lead
has an excellent vocal range, seems to be able to call on the
extremes whenever! All in all a decent album most definitely!

365.11 | I'm glad you enjoy it ! | KETJE::VLASIU | | Fri Jul 27 1990 04:58 | 15 |
| Glad that after Oliver Magnum you enjoy also Hitt Man. We seem to have
common tastes. You can also check when you have the occasion Savatage's
"Gutter Ballet" and Titan Force (1989 album). Titan Force is less kick
*ss but deeper and with great vocals and instrumentals (it's an album
to be listen entirely because of the musical progression). For very
heavy but not thrash check also Wargasm's excellent "Why play arround".
But from all this Titan Force's album remains with highest
recommendation if you enjoy music for your mind and your heart (I mean
which expresses many sentiments). This is not a comparison as all these
bands are excellent.
Enjoy !

365.12 | Vivas Machina | TPLAB::VLASIU | Sorin Vlasiu - Brussels, Belgium | Thu Jul 07 1994 03:15 | 12 |
| Hittman has released in '93 "Vivas Machina", 4 years after their debut
album. I bought the CD as a bargain (just like their first one).
VM is fine but less impressive than their strong debut album. This is
maybe because they try to show too much. It starts like Queensryche's
OMC, continues a bit like Bon Jovi for one or two songs, Extreme
influence is also there .. and there is also Dream Theater influence
(keyboards use and quieter moments). They remain a fine band (only the
drummer is new and he sounds quite much like Queensryche's drummer).
Lead vocals are fine and also the arrangements. Good album but coming a
bit late after their excellent debut.
