281.0. "Raindogs, The" by BTOVT::BRONSON () Tue Feb 06 1990 08:37

           I went to my local record store this past weekend and saw an
      album by a band called the "RAINDOGS"...what's the music like?If
      it's mellow I may not want to buy it,but if by chance it's good
      Rock the that's a different story.

                      thanks,

                         R.B.

I used to see the Raindogs a lot a few years ago, but I've heard they've
somewhat changed their sound now to be a little more commercial, so I can't
give an accurate portrayal. At the time, though, it was sort of like John
Cougar/Bruce Springsteen with some celtic influence mixed into it.

The singer was originally in the R.I. band The Schemers. And the bassist and
drummer were originally in the Red Rockers. (And before that, the drummer was
in Stiff Little Fingers).

The new album is on RCA, I believe, and the first single is "I'm So Scared".
