DYS have just re-issued their cult, hardcore album with a few extra tracks (it originally came out in 1983 as a 7" EP) and are supposed to have paved the way for alot of modern HArdcore bands. Yes, you should recognise the band name because they are from Boston. Their sound is raw, brutal and completely basic and they have alot of energy and attitude. The EP was originally called the Brotherhood EP but you now have to look for Wolfpack. BTW if you have the original and are short for cash, flog it! It's worth >$100!!!! Flip

Here's what the magazines are saying about it: Extracted form Metal HAmmer without permission "This is packed full with the anger that makes Hard-core so important. That feeling of complete agression and a fight to make this world better. Some people may think the music is rubbish but they cannot deny the pure emotion and commitment that is put into the music." I hoid of 'em. They were one of the killer bands in Boston's hardcore scene in the early 80's. I thought they had broken up. Maybe they've reformed? DYS = Department of Youth Services.... they handle all the naughty teenage lawbreakers. Paul | |||||

DYS also stood for Dick Your Sister, according to Jake, one of the first of the "Boston crew". Saw them a few times in Boston in the early 80's. Whatta show! Don't know whatever happened to Jake. I have a copy of _Brotherhood_, in mint condition, and I'm NOT parting with it. -- Mike |
