Thank you for your reply, Tom.
I'm especially a fan of Greg Lake. My favourites songs are,
"Hoedown" , "Jerusalem" , "Knife Edge"
"Still... you turn me on" and
"Tarkus" ( including Confusion will be my Epitaphhhhh...)
I wish ELP will be reorganized by Keith Emerson , Greg Lake and
Kerl Palmer (not Cozy Powell).
ps) Did you watch the concert for the 40th anniversary of Atlantic
record Co. last year ?
In that concert, Keith and Kerl played "Nutlocker".

If you like Lake's "Epitaph.." you should try to listen King Crimson's
"At the Court of the Crimson King" where Lake was singing many gems
like "Epitaph", "At the Court of the Crimson King" and "21st Century
Schizoid Man" (the last is a begining of the heavy). After, Lake left
for ELP (King Crimson included also Ian MacDonald who later formed
Foreigner).

I remember a King Crimson concert a few years ago. It was
quite short but very very good. These guys are technically perfect
musicians.
The concert started with (I have forgotten names here) two of
the band members dueling on xylophones. As this was going
on the rest of the band slowly walked on stage and in stages
added their instrument to the sound. It was quite an effect.
I believe one of the percussionists was Adrian Buloo (sp?).
I do however distintly remember Mr Fripp being there, sitting
on his customary chair doing unheard of things with his guitar
and associated frippertronics. Man is that guy ever intense!
They of course played Twenty First Century Schiziod Man.

| re: .6/.5 King Crimson
Sounds like .6 saw the "new" King Crimson. An awesome band, but
different then the old Crimson with Greg Lake, Ian McDonald and others.
The only common band member is Robert Fripp.
Like .5 says, on the ELP live album Lake sings a portion of a King
Crimson song in the midst of one of the ELP tunes. Works perfectly and
sounds great. "In The Court Of The Crimson King" is a wildly eclectic
album, but very cool.
I've always wanted to cover "21st Century Scizoid Man" in a band!

re .5:
Yes, I like King Crimson very much too. Especially "The Court Of
The Crimson King" is too perfect ! But I was discouraged to hear
the 2nd album "....Poseidon...(I forgot the title)".
I think Robert Fripp is a Genius or a Schizoid man !
And I was a fan of John Wetton (?spell). I don't what group he is in.

I know this goes back some years but, does anyone remember the
band Atomic Rooster? I believe Greg Lake helped form this early
power band before moving on to King Crimson. I still have two or
three albums at home. Haven't listened to them for years. Worth a
listen if you can find the material. One title that comes to mind
is the album "In Hearing Of..."

231.10 | The Gods & Greg Lake too | KETJE::VLASIU | | Thu Feb 01 1990 10:59 | 14 |
| Ref. .6
The correct name I think is Adrian Belew (bass player and lead vocals
with King Crimson). He has a new solo album which I've heard it's good.
Ref. .8
On "..Poseidon.." the only song I really like is the title track "In
the awake of Poseidon" because it's the closest to their first LP (King
Crimson).
Ref. .9
Greg Lake played in the begining in "The Gods" with Mick Taylor
(Rolling Stones), Ken Hensley and Lee Kerslake (both Uriah Heep) and
someone else who continued with .. Jethro Tull. Greg is what I like the
most in ELP (he's a great ballad singer).
