My sister in-law and I used to LIVE with Loverboy on the radio. It was
our cruising music for our 3-4a.m. drives out to Worcester to party
with my bro and his roommates at their apartment when he was going
    to Worcester State.

The tape with working for the weekend on it was our fav. Can't think
of the name of it at the moment. Maybe it was Get Lucky.

344.3also, I liked 'Its Over' from 'Get Lucky'...HAZEL::STARRWe're beating plowshares into swords...Mon Jan 08 1990 14:2820
'Get Lucky' had a few good songs on it. I hated "Working for the Weekend", but
I liked the wah-wah on "Take Me To The Top", the pure pop feel of "Jump",
and some of the other stuff on there.

The first album was OK also, with 'Turn Me Loose' and 'Lady of the 80's'.

"Keep It Up" was my favorite. "Hot Girls In Love" and "Queen of the Broken
Hearts" were both good songs. And "Strike Zone" from that album was their best
song ever - its heavy enough to almost be called metal! Cool lyrics about a
nuclear holocaust, and great production job (guitar sound real powerful -
killer on CD!).

I thought "Lovin Every Minute Of It" (song and album) were kinda lame, and I
never heard the later stuff.

Overall, they are a band with limited talent, but they made the best of it.
And when they got a good hook, they could do a pretty good job with the
execution of it.

    	RE: Strike Zone

I love that song, but that's the most cliche-ridden song
    	I've ever heard!!

RE: Lovin' Every Minute of It

"Dangerous" is a great song, and I also loved the title track.

    	for Loverboy...cool tune!!

It has a fair smattering of their best tunes from all of their prev.
albums and is a good representation of what they "were?" about..

LoverBoy didn't smoke Dokken at THAT show - right Buck ??

most of the people left the show when loverboy came on at the show i
was at. they don't know what they missed. loverboy put on one hell of
a show. (of course, i think i'm the only one in the place that thought
so, everybody else was just there for dokken. i happen to love 'em
    both).

While I thought both acts were notable, the GW show was one of Dokken's
better nights (they were a very on/off band ... they were on that
    night).

I flipped to the Comedy Channel for some reason the other night
and they were just ending the show ... all the cast and band
were on stage talking to each other. And I saw 1 member of the
band and said, "Eesh ... who's that poseur??" and then realized
that it was Paul Dean and that I had missed Loverboy.

Oh well ... maybe next time.

I used to like Loverboy, back in the early 80's. Are they still
around? I haven't heard any new stuff...but based on how much I liked
them back then I would give them a thumbs up.

However, that's not to say I'm gonna go out and buy it again, but if I
did...would I have to hunt for the vinyl??? ;)
