note 53 ? The HM Gospel note ? Can't remember
exactly what reply, hut MB mentioned it somewhere
between 27-35 I think. Is this them ?

Hmm..... I did a dir/title and they didn't ccome up....
I'll have to look and what MB wrote...but I'm almost positive
they are the same
Although...they're not like Stryper... I didn't know they were
"gospel" until I read the tape jacket..and it mentioned Jesus Christ
and a help hotline...
Regardless if they are gospel....I am DEF getting that album

Read the base note ......sheese!
They have a little of everything. Some thoughtfull...loaded
with feeling ballads..
They have some raw kick in the head hard stuff...
They have some..."middle of the road" stuff for the weak stomach..
Only kidding about that last part.
They sound like an old Iron Maiden...but IMO..they're NOT
copykats..def an original feel...
Take my word for it...GET THE ALBUM... State of Control... I
didn't know they were gospel until later..but it dosent matter they
def kick some a$$....

I've got 2 of their albums.... State of Control and Atomic Arena.
To me...IMO...AA seems heavier...less ballads than SoCo...(ha
...no pun intended)
I like em both...

| They've released "Hotter Than Hell" in July. A fall tour should be
forthcoming.

Barren Cross has added a new vocalist and drummer. Vincent Van
Voltenburg now handles the vocals and Dave LaVie is the new timekeeper.

My dad made me buy it when he was trying to get me to stop
listening to secular H_M!
He even sent me to a H_M shrink to stop me from listening!
Now he hangs all our flyers on his office wall!!!!!!

| I had the occasion to listen Barren Cross' Atomic Arena and it was
good. They sound quite close to Iron Maiden (singer's voice and guitar
works). AA is easy to listen and it is well balanced. A good band.

because the wore all blue and white.

| Yeah, I have that one too. I didn't think it was bad, kinda like Iron
Maiden with a little creativity. There's other Christian bands that
I'd pick to listen to first, but these guys aren't too bad.

| I didn't lose anything. You were right about your album, and I was
right about my CD (which I'll bring for you to verify tomorrow). So,
we were both right. Weird...
For the benefit of the rest of you, it appears that the album Friz has
has some of the same songs from my CD, but there's more on the CD and
the band photos look nothing at all alike.

| Their outfits were definately pretty cheezy lookin. White leather arm
bands and matching blue things with little chrome chains hangin around
all over the place. Like the ultimate "mid-80's heavy mettle" look.
They probably thought it was cool at the time, now it's just humorous!

back then. A lot of bands had changed there dress style with the times.
But heavy metal bands especially had that look.

| Checked my CD and it appears to be the old songs from the record Friz
has (released in '86) remixed by Ronnie Montrose in 1990 rereleased on
a different label (Medusa Records) with some live tracks added.
Don't know how different the sound is, since I haven't heard the
record, but I like the CD.

| Barren Cross are back together and doing a few songs on a christian
compilation cd. I saw a recent picture of them in the Heavens Metal
mag. The guitarist and drummer cut there hair. Guess because one
has a new job and the other was going to school. They said they
probablly will be working on a new full release also.
