Yah, I hear that song playing on WAAF all the time but, just found out
who sings it last night. I can't remember the name either. But, it's
pretty cool. Maybe someone else out there can fill us in. - Kim

Yup, I got it last night. I've only listened to it once,
but so far the only comment I have is that his voice gets
irritating after awhile. (Ya know at the end of "Come A-
long", when his voice gets real high? He uses the same voice
in alot of the other songs).
Of course, "Come Along" cranks.

After listening to this album about 4 times or so, I have
to say that most of it cranks ... not just "Come Along".
That's still my favorite from this album, though.
Heck, I even like most of the "power ballads" (there's a-
bout 3 of those) on here.

Also picked up this CD with the Black Crowes. After the first listen
I thought oh god why did I buy this, other than for Lonesome Fool?
But the more I listened the more I liked. The ballards are great.
The lead singer does however sound like Axl Rose once in awhile but
other than that the CD is great!

353.12 | Not too thrilled | COOKIE::G_HOUSE | Give a little | Mon Jul 30 1990 13:10 | 10 |
| I picked this one up awhile back and it's *ok*, but I wasn't thrilled.
I was surprised to hear "Lonesome Fool" getting airplay when I was in
the Boston area a couple of weeks ago, I think it's one of the worst
songs on the album.
Overall, I wasn't all that impressed. I think I'd probably like it
better if that guitar player would lose that stupid harmonic squeal
that he seems to put in every song. It gets pretty tiring..

Ditto. I bought it, listened to it once, decided I couldn't
stand to hear the lead singer screech and it's been in my
rack between RAP and SIMON/GARFUNKEL every since.

Hmm everyone I talk to about this album has the same things to say.
The Singer's voice gets on Their nerves. I've listened to it twice,
Black Crowes being on the otherside over rules them. But, I like
it.

should define a more personal style. These being said, I'll not buy the
CD as it is far from my own taste.

| Woah...this note has been dead for a tad!!
I just found my LONG LOST (and much missed!) Salty Dog tape this
weekend...this band is *roolin*!
I forgot what good songs this album has...Come Along, Cat's Got Nine,
Ring My Bell, Lonesome Fool, Slow Daze, Sacrifice Me..
Granted, the singer's voice can get annoying at times, esp. in his
"high range", it's rather whiney (yeah, worse than Vince Neil!), but
it's cool in his lower range, which is a good portion of the singing.
I really like the guitar players sound and style...very unique. The
drums and bass are very tight.
I donno, I just really like this tape

True, but interestingly enuff, the dude uses a stock english 100wt
marshal amp, with not a lot of gain happening either. He squeels
with the best of em -- a good arguement in the Cooper "Marshalls
suck cuz they don't squeel" arguement!
