164.1 | One for all...all for one | CASEE::LALLI | Didier - BCE Valbonne - DTN 828.5423 | Wed Dec 20 1989 03:25 | 13 |
| The album I prefer and would recommend is "All for one". It shows exactly
what those guys are worth.
It's very energic !
Try "Athletic Rock" (last song of side 2), it rocks
I think they can be called a Power trio.
Got to admit that I didn't listen to recent albums. How are they compared ro old
materials ?

| Hello,
Me too I know only "All for One" which I found excellent. It is as
Didier says very energetic and very direct. I've heard that after that
LP they have changed the style becoming less effective. Aparently their
last is somewhat a return to the old days but I haven't heard it.

re: -1
Yeah, they've changed their style when they leaved England
for NY. I hate it. I guess they were chenged their style by
Atlantic whether they want to do or not. They realized that
they couldn't leave the matter as it was. And then contracted
with Relativity Combat to get their original style.
I think only the following albums are Raven.
Rock Until You Drop
Wiped Out
All for One
Nothing Exceeds Like Exess

| The Pack IS Back is AWESOME ! I love that album.
Didn't they do a cover of an old Melanie tune (Melanie being the
"I got a brand new pair of Roller Skates" chick) on that album ??

| Dear oh dear!! Are they still going? That first album's brilliant
and they put out a great back to back version of Sweet's Action and
Hellraiser. I remember them!! (adopts grandfather with a walking
stick stance and goes off to die)

Well, I went to HM disk shop in Tokyo last weekend and
referenced Raven's albums. I couldn't find albums which was
released before Stay Hard. Shopman said that Raven's albums
that was released before Stay Hard is not available anymore
in Japan and also not available in the UK too. The pity of
it ! We'll never listen to thier good old efforts.
Raven has walked serious road, and that without success. But
I like them. I believe they are rihgt about keeping thier own
way. Thinking about thier latest excellent album(Nothing
Exceeds Like Excess), they returned to old days; Guess
they'll keeping this style in future. I expect them to get a
big name in future release ;-).
Kazunari.

| Oh lucky me! I found a CD "Rock Until You Drop" which was released by
Japanese small company. They said "the tenth anniversary of NWOBHM" is
the reason for releasing. Quality of sounds is bad. But it reminds me
my high school days.
Energic!
Kaz.
