| I listened to the first side of the Mind Funk album on the way into work this
morning. Basically, they are very similar to Faith No More, although not quite
as good. But that's not to say they're real bad, 'cause I still liked 'em.
Best songs were "Bring It On" (an immediate favorite) and "Big House Burning".
"Fire" was the only one I didn't really like that much, the others were pretty
decent.
Side two on the way home tonight....

them.

Funny, 'cause FNM was the first thing I thought of when I heard MindFunk! I
thought it was obvious. Hmmmm....
The comparison I hear is not to FNM's bass-driven stuff like "Epic", but more
towards the guitar-oriented songs like "From Out Of Nowhere".
Maybe the comparison will fade away after more listens, but that's definitely
what struck me the first time through!

Their sound reminded me more of Sub-Pop bands like Nirvana or Mudhoney.
When I read the reviews of the album, everyone was comparing them to
either FNM or RHCP, so when I first listened to the album I tried to
pick out the similarities...no luck, maybe the odd bass line, riff here
and there, but that was about it.

| Jim and Friz,
I read in an interview with Kurt Cobain from Nirvana that Jason
Everman didn't even play on "Bleach" even though he was given
credit for playing. He was the one who bankrolled the $600.00
bucks to record the album. Kurt also said they never paid him
back.
Typical.

Just picked up this album - on first listen I like it. Favorites so
far are Big House Burning (?) (the reason I bought the album) and Sister
Blue. The whole of side II is excellent, but the first couple of songs
on side I are going to take a few listens(I think).

| I was just listening to this on Wednesday and the intensity and groove
still amazes me. An outstanding album! Fast paced and reckless. The
guitarist is occasionally a little sloppy sounding, but his pace is
relentless and he plays with *so* much energy that I don't have a
problem with it at all!
FWIW, Steve, the first two songs are my favorites!

| Oh yeah, I remember reading now that they did get a new label. They
were dropped JUST as they started the recording sessions for the new
album (hense the title) and had to finance it themselves and shop it
around. I'm interested in hearing it!

Saw Mindfunk play in Bristol about a year and a half ago, great gig
although the support band were crap, haven't got the new album yet due
to lack of funds but soon to be aquired.
While sat at home reading Kerrang! last night I found out they playing
in Bristol on the same night and I had missed them.

Any info would be appr.
