actually, they are from NH as well, Pete. The
bassist used to play for a band called Prophet.
His girlfriend was the drummer for them, and boy
could she kick *ss! Normandy is a great studio,
I love it there. THat's where Formicide recorded
their second demo.
Also, Formicide is back together, however they
have a new singer, all new songs (they dropped
everything they ever wrote as Formicide :'() and
are now called "Only Living Witness".

| I graduated with the (ex?) lead singer of MR, I think his
name is Mike Monroe (not another one!)....I think some of the other
guys live or used to live in Stoughton,MA....We graduated from
Randolph High in Randolph,MA.....I guess that would make him 21 or so..
Can't say I was friends with any of them, though....He and his
friends were what me and my friends called 'futures' - because they
didn't have any. They were always in all the remedial classes,
always getting kicked outta school, smoking in the bathrooms, etc.

I assume you're talking to me, I thought you were serious!
RE:.8 Yeah, the old member of Hanoi Rocks...
Question: Didn't Vince Neil of Motley Crue have to spend a year in
jail and do a charity concert because he killed the
drummer of Hanoi Rocks? I heard they were drunk, driving
in Neil's Pantera, and they crashed. I think Vince also
had to pay the drummer's family like 1.5 million or
something....

Oh no no no I wasn't referring to you, and I wasn't serious
either, sorry about that Mike!!!
Well, Vince was partying all day with Razzle. They ran out of
beer, so they hopped in Vince's Pantera and headed down the PCH
to buy another case of Bud. What I think happened is that they
were traveling at a high rate of speed, crossed over onto the
wrong side of the road, and slammed into a car head-on, killing
Razzle, and seriously injuring a woman (women?). Vince had to do
some time, and a LOT of community service, and a HUGE amount of
money to the woman he injured and probably something towards Razzle's
family I would guess. I've heard that the guilt he went through/lives
with is enormous. Definitely a tragedy, but what you sow is what you
reap, right?

How true, how true, I'm sure the guilt is exponentially greater than
the money or the time.......at least he has got over it enough to
put out kick@$$ albums with the rest of the Crue!

Nit Pick
Mike Monroe of Hanoi fame is from Finland not Sweden. Close, though.
His real name is Matti Fagerholm (it's easier to pronounce if you stuff
your mouth full of marsh mallow first of all!).

153.14 | Solitary solitude | KETJE::VLASIU | | Tue Dec 11 1990 12:02 | 11 |
| This is one of the best surprises I had this year (in HM music). They
play very heavy rock with killing riffs and a very powerful voice
recalling the style of Wild Dogs. The compositions are strong and the
theme of the album is about imprisonment and privacy of liberty.
Razzor Ribbon is the best song for me but all the rest is very good
too. The singer from Wargasm participates for some background vocals
(Bob Mayo). The name of their actual singer is Mike Munro (and he's
excellent). After the holiday I'll introduce their line-up in a reply.
Highly recommended.

| Her is the line-up of this excellent power metal band:
Stuart Dowie - drums
Jesse Johnson - bass
Jim Koury - guitars
Mike Munro - vocals (nothing to do with Michael Monroe)
Anthony Nichols - guitars
Definitely one of the best heavy metal bands actually !

I also broke out my old Meliah Rage 'Kill to Survive'.
This tape is awesome. I don't know why I haven't looked
for more by this band. The guitars have a dark heavy
feel to them, and the lead singer goes well with the
music. I highly recommend this tape to all *HEAVY metal
lovers, and speed metal fans. I will be listening to
this one for a long time I am sure....
