Venom bassist/vocalist, Cronos, has finished work on his debut album...although the band (Cronos) have not yet signed a record contract. The record should be released early next year; it was produced by themselves. Band members: Cronos; Mike H, guitar; Jim C, Guitar; Chris P, drums. The band are suffering a set back at the moment because US neo-classical act The Kronos Quartet have threatened them with legal action, claiming that their name is too similar. Flip

Gee.....I can't understand why they'd be upset with a similar
name...both are great entertainment....both are musically
inclined..hmmm I cant figure out what the porblem would be...

Cronos guitarist, Mike Heatley, was a Berklee college friend of mine.
Haven't seen him all too often -- last I heard, he was back in the
states living in Athol, MA! 8^P The other members of Cronos were
still in the UK, and they were writing tunes viz MAIL!!
If you wanna run into Mike H, go to Al Pitrelli gatherings in the
Boston area (Al, another Berklee guitarist, was once in a band with
Mike ... it went nowhere).

So, who do I run into at last weeks Dream Theater show? Mike Heatley!
So, one of my first questions to him -- what's up with Cronos? He
left the band last year, but says they continue to record with a
new (apparently killer) guitarist, still writing some really killer
(VERY heavy) music!!
Mike is still living in Athol, MA, and is trying to form a new band.
Style is in the same ultra-heavy vein as Cronos, fwiw. He's supposed
to be sending me a tape.
